Overview

Fortitask ("we", "our", or "us") is a challenge app that lets you take on tasks, compete with friends, and track your progress. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

By using the Fortitask app you agree to this policy.

Data We Collect

Account information

• Email address
• Username and display name
• Profile photo (optional)

Activity data

• Challenges you create, attempt, and complete
• Photos and videos you upload as task proof
• Points earned and activity history
• Friends list and group memberships
• Comments and reactions

Purchase data

• Whether you have an active Premium subscription
• Purchase date (processed by the App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment details)

Device & technical data

• Device type and operating system (collected automatically by Firebase)
• App usage analytics (crash reports, performance data)

How We Use Your Data

• To operate and improve the Fortitask app
• To display your profile, activity, and progress to you and your friends
• To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset)
• To process and verify in-app purchases
• To moderate user-uploaded content for safety
• To show ads to non-premium users (via Google AdMob)
• To detect and prevent abuse

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Fortitask uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions. Privacy policy
• RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. Privacy policy
• Google AdMob — advertising for non-premium users. Privacy policy
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Privacy policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing for Premium purchases.

User-Uploaded Content

Photos and videos you upload as task proof are stored securely and may be visible to other users depending on the challenge's visibility settings (public, private, or group-only).

All uploads are automatically scanned for inappropriate content using Google Cloud Vision. Content that violates our guidelines is removed immediately.

Privacy & Safety Controls

Blocking users

You can block any other user at any time. When you block someone:

• They cannot view your profile, posts, or activity
• You will not see their content in any feed
• Any existing follow relationship between you is removed
• Any existing friendship between you is removed
• Neither party can send the other a friend request, follow request, or group or challenge invite
• You can unblock them at any time from their profile

Private profiles

You can make your profile private in your account settings. When your profile is private:

• Other users cannot view your profile page or follower/following lists
• Only approved followers can see your activity
• You can still post publicly to the public feed and participate in group challenges — those posts remain visible according to their own visibility settings

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, challenges, activity history, uploaded media, and all associated data. This cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

Fortitask is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data via the Edit Profile screen
• Delete your account and all associated data — see instructions
• Opt out of personalised ads (via your device's ad settings)
• Request a copy of your personal data by contacting us at privacy@fortitask.com

Regarding data requests: we will do our best to provide the personal data we hold about you. However, please be aware that not all data may be returnable — for example, some data may be anonymised, aggregated, or held by third-party services (such as Firebase, RevenueCat, or AdMob) and subject to their own policies. Data requests are processed within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
